Is Argan Oil a Carrier Oil?

Argan oil is renowned for its numerous benefits for hair and skin, versatile oil is rich in vitamin E, fatty acids, and antioxidants. Not only is argan oil a powerful standalone treatment, but it also serves as an excellent carrier oil, enhancing the effectiveness of essential oils for various applications.

What Is Argan Oil?

Argan oil boasts a distinct scent with nutty and slightly fruity notes, setting it apart from most other natural oils. This time-honoured remedy for hair and skin originates from the fruit of the argan tree, native to Southern Morocco.

The extraction process begins with drying the fruit to extract the nuts. These nuts are then cracked open to reveal the kernels, which are pressed or cold-pressed to release the precious oil. This method not only captures the essence of the plant’s fragrance but also preserves its nourishing properties.

Renowned for its powerful properties, argan oil has been a valuable trade item since the 12th century BC. The scarcity of argan trees has only increased its desirability, making it a coveted ingredient in cosmetics since the early 2000s.

Argan Oil Benefits

In its purest form, argan oil is rich in vitamin E and boasts powerful properties that make it essential for both haircare and skincare.

Argan Oil as a Carrier Oil with Essential Oils

Pure argan oil is all-natural, gentle, and fast-absorbing, making it an excellent carrier oil. It can be used to dilute essential oils for topical applications on skin, body, and hair. Here are three of the best essential oils to mix with argan oil:

  • Lavender Essential Oil: Blend with argan oil for a soothing and moisturising massage oil that leaves your skin relaxed and hydrated.

When creating custom blends, be mindful of your ratios. A general guideline is to dilute a maximum of 18 drops of essential oil per ounce of argan oil to ensure a safe, skin-friendly mixture.

My only regret is that I didn’t review sooner! (Sorry!!!) The contents of this review pertain to the Peppermint Shampoo Bar and the Argon Oil Conditioner Bar.

Hair Type: 2B, almost 2C, and relatively fine.

I have gotten SO MANY compliments on my hair since swapping to your shampoo bars! That I can rest easy knowing I can continue to both afford them AND am supporting a woman owned, environmentally friendly, and very cool business is a huge set of bonuses.

The shampoo & conditioner bars are all 10/10, absolutely recommend. I have now tried all of them, but my favorite combination remains Argon Oil Shampoo Bar & Peppermint Conditioner Bar. I’ve gotten so many compliments on these products from my sisters and guests that it was an obvious solution now that I (finally) have a guest bathroom to stock it with Parrotfish.

I will absolutely be reordering!

Fabulous Shampoo and Conditioner

I’ve been using Parrotfish’s argon oil shampoo and conditioner for more than a year and I absolutely love it. I’m an old guy with long hair and this stuff keeps my hair soft and smelling good.

I never tried shampoo bars until I knew about the Parrotfish brand. This is clean and has natural elements, may be it is worthful to pay for natural ingredients shampoo. I wish the price would be comparable to the quantity they offer.
