When you enter the world of shampoo bars, it might be hard for you to make your decision on your first shampoo bar.
Parrotfish sells safe synthetic shampoo bars, to help make people's transition to a plastic-free personal care routine a little easier.
If you love suds, check out our argan oil shampoo bar. This bar is the closest to commercial shampoo that you can currently purchase at the store. Very little transition is needed to switch from the liquid stuff to this mighty bar. Just lather it in your hands and then run them through your hair. It’s that easy!
There are two ways to use a shampoo bar: rub the bar directly on your hair, or lather it in your hands. The biggest difference is that you might feel that have to rinse more thoroughly. After you're done, store the bar on a soap saver out of direct contact with water in order to prolong its life.
Our shampoo bar contains sulfates, the cleaning agent known to make your shampoo sudsy. Sulfates remove grime and dead skin cells from your skin and scalp, but they will also reduce the longevity of artificial coloring in the hair – causing people with colored hair to avoid these shampoos in order to prolong the longevity of the dye.
However, not all sulfates are created equal, and we use a less harsh sulfate to make our safe synthetic bars lather to give you the best of both worlds without harshly stripping your color.
Becuase sulfates are not for everyone, we also carry a natural shampoo bar, Eat, Drink & Be Rosemary, that does not contain sulfates. To learn more about the difference between safe synthetic and natural shampoo bars read more here.
Parrotfish uses EcoEnclose boxes and Noissue tissue paper as cushioning. The boxes are 95% post-consumer and 5% post-industrial content as well as being fully recyclable and biodegradable. The tissue paper is printed with soy-based ink and the tissue is completely acid free and FSC Certified.
Due to the nature of the products we sell, we only accept returns or refunds on any unopened products (meaning, the sticker was never removed from the box). A shipping fee will be deducted from the full return. However, we will always replace items if they are damaged or innacurate. If you need to exchange it for the same item, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with a photo of your damaged item. We will be happy to send you a new one!
